Institution Name: INSTITUTE OF BIOPHYSICS, CAS

INTRODUCTION OF THE INSTITUTION:

The Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in 1958 by Prof. BEI Shizhang, a renowned biologist and distinguished CAS member. The mission of the institute is to carry out basic frontier research in a multi/interdisciplinary manner to achieve strategic breakthroughs in such areas as the structural biology of proteins, brain and cognitive sciences, infection and immunity, non-coding RNA, and protein and peptide drugs, among others. The institute also emphasizes applied and translational research related to biomedicine and diagnostic methods, including the development of state-of-the-art instruments, key technologies and experimental methods for bioresearch.

Recent issue of the Journal Current Drug Delivery has been published

Current Drug Delivery, 11 Issue 5

Aims & Scope

Current Drug Delivery aims to publish peer-reviewed articles, research articles, short and in-depth reviews, and drug clinical trials studies in the rapidly developing field of drug delivery. Modern drug research aims to build delivery properties of a drug at the design phase, however in many cases this idea cannot be met and the development of delivery systems becomes as important as the development of the drugs themselves.

The journal aims to cover the latest outstanding developments in drug and vaccine delivery employing physical, physico-chemical and chemical methods. The drugs include a wide range of bioactive compounds from simple pharmaceuticals to peptides, proteins, nucleotides, nucleosides and sugars. The journal will also report progress in the fields of transport routes and mechanisms including efflux proteins and multi-drug resistance.

The journal is essential for all pharmaceutical scientists involved in drug design, development and delivery.

Amazing fact about Appendix

appendix3

Appendix is commonly known to cause appendicitis in humans that is removed instantly when it causes pain. It is mostly perceived by people as a useless organ in the human body that has lost its function a million years ago. However, a recent study down by scientists on appendix shows that it is rather a very beneficial organ in the human body that helps save your digestive system from the harmful bacteria. They use it to give a break to the pressure that is generated by the hyperactive activities of the gut; it helps somewhere to breed and boosts the microbial denizen of gut.
