Shrimati Hansa Mehta Library, the University Library of M S University of Baroda was established on May1, 1950. At the time of establishment of the M. S. University of Baroda, a collection of 25,000 books belonging to the two State Libraries (Huzur Political Office and Secretariat Library) was handed over to the University Library. There were several colleges in Baroda – Baroda College (for Arts), Science Institute, Commerce College, and Secondary Teacher’s Training College etc. These colleges had libraries of their own. These libraries continued to remain as Faculty Libraries and were administered independently. Thus the University Library System was established on 1-5-1950, which was housed in the central block of Old Residency Office.
Universidad ORT Uruguay Biblioteca Centro, Uruguay
Universidad ORT Uruguay is Uruguay’s largest private university. It has more than 10,000 students, distributed among five faculties and institutes. Universidad ORT Uruguay was established as a non-profit organization in 1942 and was officially certified as a private university in September 1996, becoming the first private educational institution in the country to achieve that status. The Library System of Universidad ORT Uruguay is integrated by the Libraries Center and Pocitos. The Library Center manages the collections of Faculty of Engineering , Faculty of Communication and Design , Institute of Education and Jewish Studies , while the Pocitos Library, the collections of Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences and Faculty of Architecture.
CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, India
The National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) is an Indian government laboratory based in Pune, in western India. Popularly known as NCL, a constituent member of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) India, it was established in 1950. There are approximately 200 scientific staff working here. The interdisciplinary research center has a wide research scope and specializes in polymer science, organic chemistry, catalysis, materials chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical sciences and process development. NCL publishes over 400 research papers annually in the field of chemical sciences and over 60 patents worldwide. It is a unique source of research education producing the largest number of PhDs in chemical sciences within India.
